"The "robot geologists" are hunting for chemical signatures that would confirm water once existed on the surface of Mars.

Nasa's goal is to pave the way for a sample return mission. According to Dr Adler, the only way to satisfy the debate about life on Mars is to bring Martian rocks back to Earth for study."

The Mars Explorer Rover (MER) Mission home page has links to kids stuff, including games. The launch on Sunday at 11:05 am PT can be seen on the web in Real format or Windows Media (other Internet viewing possibilities available). And they have a cool Multimedia page with lots of pics and vids...we know how visual our kids are.
