Deidre Rodman Radio Special and Western US Appearances Supporting Simple Stories I was sending off an email to Deidre Rodman to see if she is available for the show and noticed that there is an upcoming radio special on her and the quintet and a couple of live dates out west in her home state of Idaho and Washington. "The Deidre Rodman Quintet Special" will be this Saturday, October 5, at 3:00 pm (which is 2:00 pm for us here in San Diego) on Idaho Jazz at Boise State Radio where the webcast can also be picked up. Looks to be rebroadcast on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 11:00 am (10 in SD). Jeff Fox is the host of the show. Should be fun to hear. I've got to find a way to capture the web stream as an MP3 so I can save it. The special is in anticipation of appearance by The Deidre Rodman Quintet for the College of Southern Idaho Jazz Studies program on Saturday, October 11, 2003 in Boise. Wow, a free workshop AND concert. The hometown folks will be getting the best deal in town! Deidre will also be appearing the following Monday, October 13, 2003 at Whitworth College in Spokane.
Great to see her doing some dates to promote her new disc "Simple Stories". I wonder what it would take to get the group on a plane to San Diego for a date somewhere in town? Say sometime around Thursday, October 16, 2003. OK, just a dream. Anyway, I'm trying to see if we can talk to her on the air about the new disc on Thursday, October 16, 2003. More news to follow. |
