Safari Browser Not Working With Westhost Site Manager 2.0

An example of the simple turning to complex (and something I wouldn't have to chase down if computers didn't really ultimately suck), is this problem with my main browser on the ol' G4 here, Apple's Safari browser, not working with the web-based Site Manager 2.0 software from my web host, Westhost. To really pursue it and not sweep it under the rug, like so many other simple-yet-complex things in my life, here's my report of the problem in the Westhost forum,

"When attempting to login to Site Manager (http://TheNewJazzThing.com/Manager/) with my Mac OS X Safari browser, I continuously receive the following message: "Either user, password, ip are incorrect"

Let's see if we get some takers on this. In the meantime, it's IE Mac for site management stuff (web stats, web email, etc.).

Scary Thought - Blogging (Writing) Takes Too Much Time

There have been lots of good reasons why I haven't been blogging much recently. The lack of working blogging tool played a part, but in reality was only one contributing factor.

One thought that crossed my mind this morning as I watched sunrise sky blaze orange was that I'm scared. Scared of the time it takes to put something coherent and meaningful together. Not that much of this is more than just the facts (jack), but what does go down here always seems to be bigger than anticipated. This is very common theme in my life and the things that I find interesting and get involved in (photography, blogging, requirements analysis, movie making, radio show, interviewing). And this thought doesn't even begin to touch the complexity of relationships with children, spouse, family, friends, aquaintences...real people. There's something here that I'm wrestling with mentally...some hump I need to get over.

One thing I can be sure of is that I continue to embrace (although hardly ever achieve) simplicity so that I can discard simple things. Simple tasks. Moving beyond the simple. Use what you have. Make do. No more, no less.

And I embrace complexity because it is so engaging. And New is complex. New is not simple. New requires time to understand. To become simple. To be discarded.

And what to make of the quest for simplicity being so complex? So frustrating? Why not embrace the quest for simplicity because of it's complexity? One large factor is the team effort involved in life. And using the word team implies some common goals.

Common. Simple. Complex.

And that took much longer than I anticipated.
