TNJT Goes To School - To Teach Work, Hobbies, and Blogging I practiced a key element of Jazz today, Improvisation, in front of a cool bunch of future Jazz fans. With only the briefest of outlines, we talked about how the work-a-day lives we must live can be made fuller with hobbies and other fun activities. SAIC's cool, Red, driver-less Grand Challenge Entry was as much a hit as any of the Radio and Mobile weblogging gadgets and services that make up my hobbiest activities. I started out by using http://Audioblog.com and my telephone to conduct a "What are your hobbies?" interview with the class, with the goal of showing off the Live posting of a telephone interview to the web. After discussing my gainful employment, we then took a brief tour of various TNJT properties. I showed off http://TNJT.com and talked about how I post information about my radio show guests and other New things, like that new multimedia work, Dragonfly. We then discussed being able to take camera phone pictures and immediately posting them to http://TNJT.TextAmerica.com, where we showed a couple class photos that I took before and during our talk.
![]() Then, we sprung their own audio on them, recorded on the phone when we started the chat and posted live to http://TNJT.com/audblog using the http://Audioblog.com service. And we played it back to them on the portable radio, using the little FM transmitter gadget plugged into the computer headphone jack...my private DJ machine! Mobile recording technology broadcasting to the masses...or just masses of eager kids looking for something to do..
A great time was had by me and I hope by the kids. Enjoy! |
