Mr. Lotfi treats us all to two performance sections, both including some vocal...what a treat for myself, the listeners, and Jazz 88...enjoy...
Here are a couple of pictures of M R Lotfi, myself, and Kouroush after the interview... Here's the pre-show prep, what little there was for an interview thought about many weeks before, but only arranged within an hour or so of the start of the show...hooray... Wow...what an honor...and a challenge, I believe. Here's how our friend and facilitator Farhad Bahrami, put it in his announcement to the masses... "Mohammad Reza Lotfi, a leading interpreter of traditional Persian music, will be making a rare Southern California appearance on Saturday, June 25. A virtuoso of the tar and setar (long-necked lutes), he will perform extended improvisations from the classical Persian repertoire - music that is highly ornamental and noted for it's poetic and spiritual qualities."
