Neal is in San Diego August 22 through 28, spending time teaching Jazz at Point Loma Nazarene University and playing a couple of gigs in town, at Dizzy's on the 25th and Greene Music on the 26th. We'll chat about his time in town, play some New tunes from the new (and not yet released!) Brian Lynch disc featuring Neal, and find out what we can about Neal's New solo disc that he is just about to going into the studio to record. I got to check out Neal just a couple of months ago when the Cyrus Chestnut Trio played out at PLNU and he was a totally flowing, fluid, body movin' Thing behind the kit, adding some great poly rhythms to the trio's tunes.
